All ToxProtect models can be operated with either ULE, NB-IoT or LoRaWAN technology. A mixed approach is also possible.

ULE Technology enables the use of the ToxProtect in almost all installation locations independent of an existing mobile network.

With ULE technology, the BatteryBox communicates directly with the reader and data is exchanged between the BatteryBox and the reader. The data exchange is always encrypted! In addition, authentication mechanisms ensure that only the reader can exchange data with its respective BatteryBoxes.

For NB-IoT or LoRaWAN technology, we use the latest mobile radio standards. There is no need to visit the manholes where the ToxProtect boxes are located, as the data is transmitted directly to the cloud. Visit data is sent directly to the WebService on a daily basis. Installation/removal of the ToxProtect and bait management are still carried out via the reader and synchronised with the WebService.

With LoRaDriveBy technology we use a mobile gateway.

If NB-IoT or LoRaWAN is not yet available at the desired installation locations, we recommend a mixed operation of ULE and NB-IoT or LoRaWAN.
